Early Registration Now Open for the 2011 Complete Streets Forum!

The Toronto Coalition for Active Transportation (TCAT), a project of Clean Air Partnership, invites you to join us for our fourth annual active transportation conference – the Complete Streets Forum – taking place on April 28 and 29, 2011.

Registration is now open  – reserve your spot today to take advantage of early-bird pricing!

Transportation is more than just a hot conversation topic these days. It is an urgent issue that impacts the prosperity, health, and livability of the entire Greater Toronto and Hamilton Area (GTHA). The challenges facing us are multifaceted, transcend municipal boundaries, and affect all of us, regardless of how we choose to get around – by car, bike, transit, or our own two feet.

To confront these challenges head-on, the theme for this year's Complete Streets Forum is “Building Alliances”. The Forum brings together a diverse group of professionals, policy-makers, researchers, advocates, and thought-leaders from across the GTHA and beyond. It will be of particular interest to those in the transportation, public health, urban planning/design, public policy, and non-profit sectors.

The goal of the 2011 Complete Streets Forum is to explore best practices, share ideas and success stories, and showcase research and technical solutions on how to better plan and design complete streets that will embrace and protect cyclists and pedestrians while accommodating all road users, including transit and cars

The first day of the Complete Streets Forum, Thursday April 28, will take place at the University of Toronto's Hart House. This beautiful venue is described as a "living laboratory...a place for inspiration, engagement, reflection and action" - the perfect fit with what we are set to accomplish at the Complete Streets Forum. On Friday April 29th registrants may participate in exclusive workshops and special events at various locations in Toronto and the surrounding region (available on a first-come first served basis).

We are very excited to have some of the world's foremost authorities on active transportation as keynote speakers for this event:

  • Michel Labrecque from Montréal, Quebec (Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Société de transport de Montréal and former President of Vélo Québec)

We invite everyone who is working to improve our communities, cities, and urban landscape to join us in this important conversation. We all need to get around – we're all in this together. Help us make Complete Streets a reality by registering today! Special early-bird pricing is available only until April 1, 2011.
